Adjusting the rake of your foil has a huge impact on the sailing characteristics of your set. That's why it's important to know why you would want more or less rake!
If we want to increase the rake of the board, we make the angle between the foil and the board larger. A larger rake means more control because the board's nose is more upward-facing. To achieve this, place a shim with the thick side forward in the foil box of the board.
If we want to decrease the rake of the board, we make the angle between the foil and the board smaller. A smaller rake means more acceleration because the nose of the board is now slightly more downward-facing.

The foil rake shims are very simple to use. The size of the shims is exactly the same as the inside of your foil box. Place your board upside down on a soft surface, and then insert the shim into the box before placing the foil in it. Depending on whether you want more or less rake, you can place the thick side of the shim in front or behind.

Adjusting the rake of your foil may seem complicated, but it certainly isn't. These foil rake shims are not only suitable for advanced windfoilers. For example, if you notice that you don't easily get back in the air after a touchdown, it may be wise to give the foil a little more rake.

This makes securing your foil with the shim in between much easier. Additionally, the shim covers the entire top of the foil mast, ensuring that the pressure from the foil on the board is still evenly distributed.
