Starboard iQFoil Aluminium Foilset

The Starboard iQFoil Alumnium has been specifically developed for the iQFoil Junior class. In this class, wind foil competitions are sailed by boys and girls under the age of 17. The class is a precursor to the spectacular new Olympic iQFoil class.

The big difference between this foil and the foil used for the iQFoil senior class is the aluminum mast. This mast has been specially developed for the Junior class and is therefore extra stiff to make sailing hard and close to the wind possible. The mast is 95 centimeters long, which offers a very large reach on the foil. By implementing this aluminum mast it is possible to purchase this absolute race foil for a reasonable amount. This makes it possible for all youth to start a wind foil competition!
 
Since 2022, the aluminum mast is no longer used for the iQFoil Youth class. From now on they will sail with the iQFoil Carbon.

Another difference with the Senior iQFoil is the 800 front wing. This wing is especially suitable for lighter foilers, under 70 kg. The wing has a high-aspect profile which enables it to reach very high top speeds. The 255 rear wing is used for both the iQFoil Aluminum and the iQFoil Carbon and can be trimmed using the supplied shims.

The Starboard iQFoil Aluminum comes standard with the 115 plus and 95 plus fuselages. The 'plus' in this naming stands for the extra long distance between the front wing and mast. Due to this innovation from Starboard, the foil is many times more stable than comparable foils on the market and makes it very suitable for both up- and downwind racing and going fast on the slalom course.
The 115 plus fuselage is most used by the youth. This is because the extra length brings even more extra stability and prevents 'dolphin' behaviour.
The 95 plus fuselage is suitable for very light foilers and for heavy weather conditions.

To be able to adjust the foil to different weather conditions, you can use the supplied shims from Starboard. You place the shims under the rear wing and ensure that this wing can be placed at different angles in relation to the fuselage. The larger this angle, the more lift the foil creates. This is ideal for low wind conditions. With a lot of wind you use a shim with a smaller angle to reach the highest speed.

This super complete foil set comes with a very cool bag in which you store all your parts neatly so that they are not damaged during transport.

This foil is intended for the young competition-oriented wind foiler who would like to participate in iQFoil Junior competitions. An older but lighter wind foiler with sufficient experience could also work well on this set. The foil is a true race foil, and therefore not suitable for the novice wind foiler.
