Patrik Race SF

The Patrik RaceSF (SF = Slalom/Foil), a cutting-edge hybrid competition sail that combines the best of both worlds. In response to the demands of riders who sought the flexibility to switch between foil and fin setups without changing their sail, Patrik Diethelm and Fabio Canella have developed the RaceSF, which has quickly become a favorite among enthusiasts.

The RaceSF is specially designed to excel in high-wind fin slalom and crosswind speed conditions. Its high aspect design offers a more effortless experience for the rider, and the shorter boom enhances maneuverability during jibes. However, when it comes to upwind and downwind angles, our pure fin slalom sail, the Race+, holds a slight advantage.

On the foil, the RaceSF truly shines, enabling controlled flight and achieving remarkable speeds. Thanks to its advanced aerodynamics, the sail delivers an exhilarating experience while feeling responsive and generating slightly more power than the pure foil sail, the FoilS2. This characteristic is particularly advantageous for heavier riders, recreational sailors, and when tackling lighter winds, as it provides added backhand pressure, making pumping and acceleration easier.

Patrik believes in a "no-compromise" approach to racing, and every aspect of the RaceSF has been optimized for maximum performance. The panels inside the sleeve are constructed using the thickest monofilm available, ensuring excellent stiffness and a locked profile where it matters most. Clear monofilm is used because it is lighter than its colored counterpart, shaving off a few grams.

The mast sleeve of the RaceSF optimizes load distribution by minimizing the PE fabric material, which stretches more and absorbs small amounts of water. Instead, the area that is offering exceptional lightweight performance while maintaining a high number of fibers per square meter is maximized.

To improve foil performance, it is suggested to use the recommended mast for fin sailing and experimenting with stiffer masts or harder tops. The sail's batten sleeves feature color changes that indicate the required amount of loose leech. It is crucial to always reach the minimum downhaul settings, as the sail may appear "okay" with less downhaul, but both performance and camber rotation will be compromised.

The RaceSF has undergone rigorous testing and tuning to deliver its best performance when paired with PATRIK SDM 100% masts. Embrace the ultimate fusion of slalom and foil capabilities with the Patrik RaceSF, designed to take your racing experience to new heights.
