As mentioned above, this mast has a high carbon percentage and a quick reflex. A speedy reflex is highly desirable for good performance, as it provides a better and faster acceleration. Carbon is also light and therefore easier to handle. A mast has a huge impact on the performance of your sail and is therefore a make or break factor of the ultimate windsurfing feeling!

Strength and construction

The inner wall of Apex masts are thicker in the middle: this makes the masts stronger and more reliable! Different materials have also been used around the place where your boom is attached so that the boom has a better grip on the mast, and the connection between boom and mast is stiffer as a result. This means you don't have to over-tighten your boom to prevent your boom from slipping over the mast, which is better for your mast as there is no unnecessary tension applied by the boom!

It's also good to know that the Apex Pro is the lightest mast you can get, and is therefore slightly more vulnerable than the regular edition Apex and Arc masts from Severne. The Apex and Arc are slightly stronger and can take a little more of a beating; the Apex Pro requires care during use. This is because less materials have been used to save weight. Among other things, having fewer layers of glass make the mast slightly more vulnerable.
