As most slalom players will know: the Isonic is a fast board. Maximum speed, lots of power and planing with minimum wind. Do you want to be the fastest on the water in competitions or simply beat all your friends? With the new Isonic this will become even more fun and enjoyable: with the new Isonics you fly even more confidently over the water with more control. A calm and controlled feeling and enough acceleration. The board hardly sticks and jibes even better than before due to a slightly widened outline twenty centimeters from the tail of the board.

Carbon Reflex VS Carbon Sandwich
The Isonic is available in two versions. Carbon Sandwich and Carbon Reflex Sandwich. The carbon reflex sandwich is lighter and stiffer, making it easier to plan, speed through wind holes and reach maximum terminal speed. With the Carbon Reflex you also have maximum control in chop or wave conditions. The carbon sandwich is slightly less stiff in comparison and made of more environmentally friendly materials at a lower price. Do you go for the lightest and stiffest board for optimal performance or do you choose the board with a better price-quality ratio?

Comfortable footstraps
Starboard has been using Drake foot straps for years. Drake Slick footstraps are made from sustainably sourced, plant-based foam. With 85% natural rubber, CO2 emissions are limited. The materials of the Drake slick footstraps have been carefully selected for a soft and comfortable feeling while riding.

Level
The Isonic is undoubtedly one of the fastest boards on the market. The Isonic does have a user manual: not everyone can handle an Isonic equally well: it is a technical board that requires some experience. Do you want to become faster but are you not quite sure of your surfing skills? Then consider the Starboard Futura, a fast board with more comfort! This one is slightly easier to sail and more manageable.

2023: What’s new?
They've done it again at Starboard. The innovations of 2022 have been continued in the other models. For example, the 60, 63, 77 and 83 now have the same shape and outline as the successful model from 2022: the iSonic 73, adjustments include a wider tail (back of the board) and arrow-shaped cutaways under the board. In addition, on both the 72 and 67 the rear foot straps have been moved further back for less surface area in the water and therefore increased top speed. With the 85 and 72, the mast rails are placed a little further back, making these boards fly even more freely and loosely over the water (in low wind).

What do you notice about this? Very simple, more power, speed even more control, both improved performance in light weather and heavy wind conditions. If you want to know more about the specific changes, let us know!
