PERFORMANCE WIND-FOIL SLALOM COMPETITION

JP's HydroFoils have undergone significant advancements to become even faster, meeting the evolving demands of racing and foiling. Shaper Werner Gnigler introduces three new shapes – 80, 85, and 88 – focusing on efficiency, reduced resistance, and enhanced air control. Changes include minimizing nose scoop and front rail thickness, introducing a slightly domed deck in the nose area, and altering the standing area's deck shape for improved leverage toward the foil.

Foiling has become dominant in slalom racing, leading in various categories. The 2024 PWA regulations permit only one foil board size, prompting the development of these three new boards to cover all PWA Slalom conditions. The existing 91 suits light wind foiling, while the proven 78 handles high winds and long-distance events like DEFI Wind.

Aerodynamic Nose Area Efficiency:

Flattened nose scoop and thinner front rail.
Slightly domed deck in the nose area for optimized airflow.
Short boards minimize swing weight and enhance top-end control.

Mast Base Area:

Fuller rails with hard, sharp edges for efficient lift and reduced drag on touch downs.

Deck Shape Innovations:

Recess for the deck box to lower the mast base pivot point.
Flatter standing area deck shape with extended pads for foot positioning without changing foil leverage angle.
Tail aerodynamics improved with a concave recess, enhancing airflow stability.

Large Tail Cut-Outs:

Designed for reduced tail volume, aiding instant take-off by sinking the tail when pumping.
Individual cut-outs tailored for each board's intended range of use.

Wide Tail:

Provides significant leverage over the foil for speed and control.
Essential for balancing a comfortable stance with efficient power distribution.

Tech Features:

  • Full Biax/Carbon Deck
  • Biax/Carbon Reinforcements
  • Recess at the Mast Track to ‘close-the-gap’
  • Footstrap Scale
  • Hard Rails in the middle
  • Large Cut-Outs
  • Foil-Tuttlebox

JP's HydroFoil Slalom boards offer exceptional efficiency, high speed, and control across a wide wind range. These improvements cater to diverse rider weights and conditions, making them powerful machines for slalom competition, promising a significant boost in foil speed.
